The rapid pace of urbanization presents huge challenges for cities. There is a growing awareness of topics such as environmental protection, inclusion or infrastructure as they affect residents, commuters and visitors just as much as decision-makers. As a major factor influencing economic growth and quality of life, the question of mobility calls for new concepts, in particular when it comes to traffic management.

Supplementary means of transport – such as ropeways – fulfill essential functions for innovative mobility concepts: relevant time saving in daily traffic, minimal use of land and resources, and the opportunity to integrate attractive additional offers for everyone, to name but a few.

The versatility, the variety and the possibilities that ropeways have to offer are illustrated by the ropeway network in La Paz. As a key part of a multimodal transport system, the ropeway stands for mobility in an independent dimension – The Next Level of Mobility.

Next level

The ropeway is by nature a high flyer. Its cabins take transport to a new level as they glide above the city. When integrated into the infrastructure as part of a well-conceived and meaningful concept, the ropeway is unhindered by other means of transport, yet nonetheless connected with them. It expands, links and fills a gap, meeting requirements where other means of transport reach their limits. That’s mobility taken to the next level.

Cost-effective

Header Image
la_paz-Cost_effective

Investing in a ropeway is an investment in the future. It can be planned and built within a short time frame. Compared with other means of transport, the costs are manageable and also pay off in day-to-day operations. The small structural imprint in the urban environment as well as the minimal use of land and resources is already evident during construction and is proven after completion. A ropeway uses a small area to provide top performance.
